REVIEW OF BONNEVILLE ELEMENTARY OGDEN, UT

490 Gramercy Ave Ogden, UT 84404

This is a wood chip based playground at an elementary school in Ogden, Utah. Playground amenities include a large play structure, extra large blacktop area with multiple games, ball hoops and grass area.

The large and only play structure for the school is located in the middle of a large blacktop area behind the school behind a completely fenced area with a latching gate.

The play structure is most likely rated for kids 5-12 years old and features multiple slides, bridge, 2 tunnels with hand holds, parallel sliding bars, monkey bars, fireman pole, tic tac toe game and pretend window on ground level and stairs for access.

A unique feature about this playground is the "Peaceful Playgrounds" program they have on their black top area. Essentially it is a series of blacktop games painted on the black top area along with program training teachers, staff and kids on how to resolve conflict on playgrounds and get kids more active and in cooperative type games during recess. While it appears that the paintings are at least a few years old, I am unsure if the school is still implementing the system that go along with the games.

Pros:

- large play structure for 5-12 year old

- fun games on the blacktop area

Cons:

- no public restrooms

- play structure not wheelchair accessible
