(WAY) OUTSIDE WEBER COUNTY: CLEMYJONTRI PARK, MCLEAN, VA

6317 Georgetown Pike McLean, VA 22101

At Weber County Playgrounds, we love playgrounds! I thought it would be fun to showcase some really neat places we have traveled to or pictures of playgrounds submitted by our readers once a month for your enjoyment. Every month we will try to choose a different state or country to highlight from.

This is an amazing all ability inclusive playground in the state of Virginia called Clemyjontri park. This was submitted by one of our readers and friends Shannon. She lives in Virginia and travels about 30 minutes from her town to visit this park (and we can see why!).

There is so much to love about this playground including the rubber surfacing, lots of sail shades, swings, spring ride-ons,  a ground level maze, trackless train and a full size carousel. This park covers 2 full acres and has been open since 2006. The park has even been written about in the fictional book "Murder Has a Sweet Tooth".

This park features lots of wheelchair accessible play structures with ramps and sensory activities. There are also other play structures that are not wheelchair accessible.

Clemyjontri park has Virginia's first Liberty swing, allowing wheelchair users to swing without having to transfer out of a wheelchair. Note that this swing is behind a fenced gate and you have to have a key to use it that you can retrieve at the park office.

One of the fabulous things about this park is the amount of activities and items suitable for toddlers and younger kids. There are also lots of elements on ground level that don't require any climbing or ladders.

We especially love the ground level maze. It is suitable for all abilities and is short enough that adults can see over the walls. There are tunnels and activity panels throughout the maze to make it more interesting.

Did I mention this park has a carousel??

If that wasn't enough it also has a trackless train that goes around the park that kids and adults can ride. There is also a ramp to the train for easy access.

There is also a play structure train in the playground that kids can climb on and pretend at near the carousel.

And what playground wouldn't be complete without swings? This park has them all- infant/toddler swings, traditional swings, ADA accessible/adaptive swings and the Liberty wheelchair swing.

I think you will agree that this is a fabulous park that suits the needs of almost all kids, big or small. Thank you Shannon for showing us around your playground. Wouldn't it be amazing if Weber County had a playground like this?
