REVIEW OF ROHMER PARK WASHINGTON TERRACE, UT

5100 S 650 W, Washington Terrace, UT 84405

This is a wood chip based playground at a public park in Washington Terrace, Utah. Park amenities include a play structure, covered picnic tables, swings, benches, restrooms, sand volleyball pit, batting cage, horseshoe pits, ball fields, basketball court and a walking trail.

The play structure at Rohmer park is rated for 5-12 years old and features 6 slides, a plastic rock staircase, ladder, curved tunnel, corkscrew climber, curved ladder fireman pole, steering wheel and stairs for access.

We visited this park during the day around lunchtime and were pleasantly surprised that almost the entire playground was shaded by mature trees nearby. There were shaded benches nearby. The only part of the playground that was not shaded was the swings, which may be shaded during the afternoon/evening by the restroom building.

There are swings in a wood chip area next to the playground with two toddler bucket swings and two regular swings.

Next to the playground there are covered picnic tables and restrooms

On the other side of the park and down another road there are gated horseshoe pits, ball fields and batting cages.

Fenced and covered batting cage next to the ball field.

Rohmer park is very large and has a street that connects the two parts together. You can access it from 5400 S or from 5100 S. There is a lot of parking in the park in lots and on the street.

Pros:

- very large park with lots of parking and space

- shaded playground during the day

- swings nearby

- quiet area past a residential neighborhood

Cons:

- playground not wheelchair accessible

- playground is not next to the ball fields; down a separate road
