OUTSIDE WEBER COUNTY: MAGICAL BRIDGE PLAYGROUND, PALO ALTO, CA

600 E. Meadow Dr., Palo Alto, CA 94303

Our favorite park of all time (including 4 countries we have traveled to) is hands down the Magical Bridge Playground in Palo Alto, CA. This playground is amazing and people drive long distances to play at this park. They average about 25,000 visitors weekly. While a big draw is the constant nice weather, the real reason people pick this playground is because this inclusive playground has something for everyone. The research that went into this playground is staggering and it really taps into the way kids play and learn. You can learn more about the Magical Bridge Foundation here. Other Magical Bridge playgrounds are being built across the Bay Area in California including one in Redwood City that opened a couple years ago.

Each area of the playground is divided into zones. Even the flooring changes to differentiate the sections.

In Palo Alto the farthest zone from the entrance is the Tot Zone. We started bringing our oldest son here at 16 months old.

My kids still talk about this area and the bells when we visit, even though they are well past the toddler zone age.

The spinning zone has 5 different spinning apparatus including a large rope spinner that can accommodate lots and lots of kids.

This is probably the most popular spinner and is always full of kids working together to spin it.

These swings are huge and although my kids love them and they are accessible, all of the swings are meant to accommodate larger kids and adults. The top harnesses also have a tendency to swing down and hit the caregiver on the head while loading a child (you've been warned).
