This is a large expansive park in Washington Terrace, UT with new and older elements nestled along a hillside in a residential area. Park amenities include a new playground suitable for all ages at one end and an older small playground at the other end. There are 4 new fenced pickle ball courts, 3 baseball diamonds with a restroom and snack bar in the middle, a fenced batting cage, soccer fields, 3 sets of restrooms, pavilions, and benches throughout. You can reserve the park pavilions here on their parks website.
This playground has a wood chip base and a sidewalk that surrounds the entire playground. Although it has a few toddler elements, it is most likely suitable for the 5-12 age range.
This playground has 2 regular swings, an accessible swing with a front removable bar and a baby/toddler swing. In the middle bay it looks like it had a tire or circle swing, but it has been removed.
This new playground has a lot of fun elements including tall tower slides, swings of all varieties including an accessible swing, climbing structures and spinning elements.
The biggest problem I had photographing this park and the reason why some elements are not shown in the pictures is because I doing my best to not get any kids in the pictures. On a cloudy blustery 50 degree morning in May, there was a large group of moms and kids and several families with toddlers playing at the park, which is always a good sign.
Be aware that the closest restrooms for the new playground are past the pickle ball courts and between the baseball diamonds. It is quite far from the playground if you have little kids.
On the far south end of the park there is some unfinished park land. I don't know what the plans are for it.
There are 4 new fenced and lit pickle ball courts nearest the new playground on the south side of the park. These are partly funded by a 2022 RAMP grant.
There are 3 large baseball diamonds in the park along with restrooms and a batting cage.
Past the baseball diamonds there are a few soccer fields and small bleachers.
At the far North end of the park there is a big pavilion, restrooms and an older playground with swings. This playground is nicely shaded during the day by a big tree.

This is a wood chip based playground at a public park in Washington Terrace, Utah. Park amenities include a play structure, covered picnic tables, swings, benches, restrooms, sand volleyball pit, batting cage, horseshoe pits, ball fields, basketball court and a walking trail.
The play structure at Rohmer park is rated for 5-12 years old and features 6 slides, a plastic rock staircase, ladder, curved tunnel, corkscrew climber, curved ladder fireman pole, steering wheel and stairs for access.
We visited this park during the day around lunchtime and were pleasantly surprised that almost the entire playground was shaded by mature trees nearby. There were shaded benches nearby. The only part of the playground that was not shaded was the swings, which may be shaded during the afternoon/evening by the restroom building.
There are swings in a wood chip area next to the playground with two toddler bucket swings and two regular swings.
Next to the playground there are covered picnic tables and restrooms
On the other side of the park and down another road there are gated horseshoe pits, ball fields and batting cages.
Fenced and covered batting cage next to the ball field.
Rohmer park is very large and has a street that connects the two parts together. You can access it from 5400 S or from 5100 S. There is a lot of parking in the park in lots and on the street.
Pros:
- very large park with lots of parking and space
- shaded playground during the day
- swings nearby
- quiet area past a residential neighborhood
Cons:
- playground not wheelchair accessible
- playground is not next to the ball fields; down a separate road
