REVIEW OF SHADOW VALLEY ELEMENTARY OGDEN, UT

4911 1500 E, Ogden, UT 84403
There are two playgrounds located at this elementary school in Ogden, UT. Playground amenities include 2 play structures, stand along monkey bars, stepping stone circles, metal obstacle course, black top area with lines for games and basketball hoops. Because this is an elementary school in Ogden School District, access to the public is restricted during school hours.

The first playground is located to the South of the school and is enclosed with a metal fence that circles it, but does not have a gate.  The play structure is rated for 5-12 year olds with two slides, rock wall, chain climber monkey bars, fireman pole and two steering wheels. There is also stepping stones and an obstacle course on a wood chip base.

There is a separate obstacle course on the playground with monkey bars, running wheel and balance beam.

The second playground is located near the first North of the school. The playground is also behind a metal fence with a closing gate.

The playground features a smaller play structure with 3 slides, rock climber, and graduated steps as well as separate monkey bars. I am assuming because of the size and height this playground is rated for 2-5 year olds, but obviously the monkey bars would be for older children.

The black top area is large and includes basketball hoops and line games.
The black top area is also fenced around.

Between the playground and the black top area there is a windmill/weather vain? My kids thought it was the coolest thing that the playground had it's own windmill.

Pros:

- 2 separate playgrounds for different ages

- both playgrounds fenced in

- next to a public park

- public restrooms available at neighboring park

Cons:

- playgrounds not wheelchair accessible

- not open for public during school hours
