REVIEW OF STONEFIELD PARK, WEST HAVEN, UT

4529 S 4700 W, West Haven, UT 84401

This is a wood chip based playground in West Haven, Utah. Park amenities include play structure, swings, rock wall slide, grass fields, covered picnic tables, grass field, restrooms and a porta-potty.

The play structure at this playground is smaller and most likely rated for 2-12 year olds.

The play structure features a curved step climber, chain/step ladder, step bridge, double sided rock climbing wall, 2 slides. ground level pretend window and stairs for access.

Next to the play structure there is a set of 2 regular swings. Like other parks we have seen in West Haven, the swing chains are not affixed permanently to the s ring. While this may be helpful if you want to adjust the height of the swing, most times we find they are way too low to use or sometimes unattached. If you are going to use the swings, please check to make sure they are fully attached to prevent injury. In our opinion the unattached seats also makes it easier for people to steal.

Next to the swings there is a double side rock wall slide.

We love these rock climbing slides because kids can climb up and over the sides and younger kids can climb up the stairs and slide down the inside of the wall. My kids find these slides particularly fun.

Inside of the slide. As you can see it is nice and slippery and creates a fast slide.

At the bottom of the slide there is an exposed white PVC pipe that continues under the playground. Just be aware as it may be a tripping hazard depending on how many wood chips have been moved. .

There are covered picnic tables under the pavilion and restrooms available at the park. When we visited the park in early November they were closed for the season. The picnic tables/restrooms are accessible from the parking lot with a sidewalk.

There is a flat bench on a concrete slab next to the playground. When we visited the park there was also a porta-potty near the road, but we are unsure if it is there every winter or will stay there.

Pros:

- rock wall slide

- swings

- lots of grass area

- restrooms and porta-potty nearby

Cons:

- no shade on playground

- playground not wheelchair accessible

- swing chains not permanently attached and may be too high/low
