REVIEW OF MEADOW CREEK POND, ROY, UT

 4200 W 5075 S Roy, UT 84067

This is a wood chip based playground in a public park in Roy, Utah. Park amenities include play structure, fishing pond with wheelchair accessible dock, walkway around pond, covered picnic tables, benches, restrooms and parking lot. The park also serves as the trailhead to the Howard Slough Parkway.

The play structure is rated for 5-12 year olds and features slides, corkscrew climber, wobbly bridge, chain ladder, curved climber, graduated hanging steps, box steps, arm bicycle, parallel slider bars, monkey bars and an overhead glider.

*Please note that the pictures were taken in April 2020 when the playground was closed due to COVID-19 concerns. There normally isn't a fence surrounding the playground area.

There is a sidewalk that surrounds the playground area as well as benches. The sidewalks and path leading to the playground are wheelchair accessible, but the benches do not have enough room to maneuver a wheelchair next to the bench safely or turn around.

Near the playground is a fishing pond that you can go fishing at.

There are docks and a path that surrounds the pond with benches. Dogs (and apparently horses) are not allowed on the path around the pond. My guess is to protect all the ducks in the pond.

There are a couple covered picnic tables behind the restroom building. There is a big shaded grass area also to picnic or play under.

Pros:

- well maintained 5-12 yr old playground

- plenty of parking in lot

- fishing pond

- lots of sidewalks and walking trails

Cons:

- playground is not wheelchair accessible

- benches are not wheelchair accessible or have room next to them for wheelchair parking
