REVIEW OF MEADOWS PARK, SOUTH OGDEN, UT

5774  S 1900 E South Ogden, UT 84403

Today we have a new guest reviewer Danna. She has two kids aged 4.5 and 6.5.

I visited this playground in South Ogden around 2:00pm on a Thursday with my 4.5 year old. We were the only people in the park. My 4.5 year olds favorite part of this playground is how fast the rainbow slide was. This park is a small, clean neighborhood park best for kids ages 5-12 years old. No parking lot exists, but there seems to be plenty of on-street parking along Eastwood Dr. (5700 S) or at the end of the cul-de-sacs on 5725 S or 5750 S.

Pros:

-Three different types of slides. The rainbow tube slide is bright and inviting for kids. The twirly slide is slightly smaller, and there is a small slide for younger kids.

-Tall Monkey Bars, so bigger kids can actually hang on them.

-Two regular swings and two baby swings, all in good condition.

-Wood chip base in the play area is clear of trash and debris.

-Unique Feature: There is a toy next to the top of the rainbow slide that has the planets in our solar system written in seven different languages.

-Open grassy area perfect for running, throwing balls, or flying kites.

-Benches and one Picnic Table exist (although the picnic table was dirty).

Cons:

-The two lower platforms on the play structure are completely open on two of the four sides, making it unsafe for toddlers that may walk or accidentally stumble off it.

-There are no stairs or ramps. All of the platforms only have a ladder or climbing structure to access them, even the platform for the small slide, making it unfriendly for toddlers.

-No shade.

-Not handicap accessible.

-No adaptive swings.

-No bathrooms.
