Two months ago today I started this blog to chronicle my search for playgrounds in Weber County. In the last two months I have learned a lot, mets some really nice people in city offices and at parks and became even more passionate about playgrounds in our area. So far with the help of one mom we have posted 25 different park reviews in 7 cities. We still have a long ways to go to finish with all the reviews by my goal of the end of 2019.
I have met with 2 city parks departments, building relationships and advocating for the safety and inclusion of all children. One city has come through with their promises to fix their broken and missing equipment in a timely manner and one city has shown interest in purchasing adaptive swings for their parks this fall.
I plan to meet with more cities this fall and start fundraising for the new much needed adaptive swings for our community. My biggest need right now is for volunteers to help with fundraising and advocating to cities parks departments.
