One of the main goals of Weber County Playgrounds is to provide children in our community safe places to play and access for all to our parks. One of the first things I did after creating this blog was to contact the North Ogden parks and recreation and set up a meeting with their director. I wanted to start a relationship with the city to work with them to fix some known issues in their local parks, instead of just complaining. I came prepared with detailed pictures of the problems and quotes from the playground manufacturers to fix the issues.
I am happy to report that the old and unsafe infant/toddler swings were taken down within the week of reporting them and replacements ordered. The toddler swings just came in and were installed on Tuesday. We went to the park this morning to take some update pictures and enjoy the swings.
Sometimes it feels like one person can't create change. I am here to say that with the right attitude, preparation and follow through you can create change to better your community.
