REVIEW OF WASHINGTON TERRACE ELEMENTARY, WASHINGTON TERRACE, UT

20 E 4600 S Ogden, UT 84405
These are two separate wood chip based playgrounds at an elementary school in Washington Terrace, Utah. Playground amenities include a two separate playgrounds and play structures, basketball hoops, black top area and a soccer/grass field.

Please note that these playgrounds are located at an elementary school in Weber School District. The playgrounds can only be accessed during non-school hours in the evenings, weekends and summers. There is no access inside the school for the public anytime.

The first play structure is in front of the school and is completely fenced in with a latching gate.

The play structure itself is rated for 5-12 year olds and features 4 slides, ground level tunnel, monkey bars, chain ladder, vertical climber and stairs for access.

Unfortunately, 2 of the 4 slides are broken and blocked off with Saran plastic wrap.

The second play structure is located behind the school. While technically the play structure is part of the George Van-Leeuwan Park, the play structure is used by the school during the day for school recess, so it is still not available during school hours.

The large play structure is rated for 5-12 years old and features a double wide plastic rock staircase, multiple slides, curved tunnel, 2 bridges, fireman pole, curved ladder, steering wheels, chain ladder, monkey bars and stairs for access. The play structure sits on a wood chip base surrounded by grass.

Directly behind the school is a large black top area with square games and basketball hoops.

Grass area in back of school connects to the George Van-Leeuwan park with fields, trees, retention basin and winding concrete walking paths.

Pros:

- 2 separate playgrounds and play structures

- playground in front of school fully fenced with latching gate

- lots of grass area

Cons:

- playgrounds not wheelchair accessible

- no public restrooms

- front playground has 2 broken and blocked off slides
