UPDATED REVIEW OF ORTON/GREEN ACRES PARK, NORTH OGDEN, UT

2050 N 575 E, North Ogden, UT 84414

This is a brand new playground in North Ogden that opened in May 2025. It has a wood chip base surrounded by smooth rocks. The playground is mostly fenced in with openings on either side (no gate). The playground has all three types of swings, a new play structure and 4 benches surrounding the playground. Three of the benches have a small table between the seats.

There is a nearby gazebo with 4 picnic tables that can be reserved.

The park also has a half mile walking/biking track and soccer fields in the middle. This raised track is also a retention pond, so during the spring it may be full of water. Residents have been known to kayak in the pond when full.  The paved running/biking track surrounds the park with fencing on 3 sides.  The circle track does not intersect with the parking lot, which is a good thing for young bike riders or if you are watching multiple children. On the day we were there we saw quite a few runners on track.

During fall and spring soccer season the parking lot at this park is overfilled with cars and lots of cars parked around the neighboring houses. Unless you are attending or watching a soccer game at the nearby Orton fields, I would recommend not visiting this park on Saturdays before 1:30pm.

By far my favorite part of this park is the area to the south side of the playground. There is a stream that runs through the park with a wooden bridge. The grass area next to the stream is almost completely shaded with mature trees. While we spent maybe 20 minutes on the playground, the majority of the time we spent this day taking pictures was playing in the stream and running around in the shaded grass area for almost 2 hours. Even on a 85 degree day, it was comfortable in the shade and water.
